Los Gigantes is one of the island's major tourist attractions it derives its name from the magnificent 500 metre high cliffs that dominate the view across the picturesque harbour. The marina itself is bordered by a mouth-watering choice of bars and restaurants and also offers the visitor a wide range of water activities, from scuba diving and deep-sea fishing to the ever-popular whale and dolphin watching boat trips.

The village also has a public beach that looks out to the fantastic cliffs of Los Gigantes and boasts three leisure parks with swimming pools, tennis courts, crazy golf and bowls, a wide selection of shops, restaurants, banks and bars. There is also a local church fronted by a plaza where traditional Canarian entertainment is often provided by talented groups of local musicians. Los Gigantes carnival is also held here every year after Ash Wednesday.

Los Gigantes is also an ideal base from which to explore the rest of Tenerife. Coach tours can be booked locally and an excellent bus service runs frequently from outside the sport and leisure centre at the top of the village.

Other resorts nearby include Puerto Santiago and Playa De La Arena.

Los Gigantes has a number of water sports like Scuba diving, Jet Ski, Water skiing, Parascending, Banana Boat Rides, Big game fishing and Whale and Dolphin Cruises all located on the marina in Los Gigantes.

There are also three public swimming pool venues in Los Gigantes the Oasis located next to the Los Gigantes hotel, the El Lagillo next to the marina and the Sport and Leisure centre at the top of the village. The black sand beach lies between the cliffs and the marina of Los Gigantes.
