Animals you can see in the park

Colourful birds from all over the world; marabous, vultures, falcons, eagles, cranes, ibises, flamingos, swans, storks, large and small parrots, macaws and an abundance of exotic birds that bring a further artistic touch to our small paradise with their skills, elegance, and the palette of flashing colours as they open their wings.

You will also see unique primates such as the Lemurs, Capuchin Monkey, Titi Monkey and the Saimiri, which looks more like a squirrel than a monkey. The Siamang from Asia,is as punctual as the roosters and the Debrazza or White-bearded Monkey also known as Bishop Monkey in Spanish due to its white beard which gives it a very solemn look.

Two white lions from South Africa stand out from all the cats living at the Park. This is an endangered species, and only a few individuals remain worldwide. They share the enclosure with another pair of brown African lions.

A few steps from the white lions you can enjoy the sight of the great hunters the Leopards. For many they are the most beautiful creatures on earth. Tender-looking, they are also lonesome and ferocious.

The Jaguars are the Park's black pearls with pitch-black skin, a genetic trait that is common to many leopards, especially in Asia.

By the entrance to the park you will find the Tiger´s enclosure. You will see two types of tigers, from India, the increasingly common Bengal Tiger and its off-shoot, the White Tiger of Rewa, an incredibly spectacular creature due to the complete white tone of its fur, and its amazingly blue eyes.

Pumas are the largest cats in mainland America. They are also known as mountain lions, Florida panthers, and red tigers. These cats are about to become an endangered species. However, recently their numbers have been gradually increased.

The small Humboldt Penguins are not to be missed. Contrary to popular belief, this specie is not from the Antarctica region but from the temperate waters of South America's Pacific coastline. You'll see them swimming or diving underwater, or outside baking for hours in the sun.

The unique species of Pigmy hippopotamus is smaller than any hippo species you normally see in films or documentaries. Pigmy hippopotamuses live in the African equatorial jungle and, surprisingly for many, they are vegetarians. At Jungle Park we have faithfully recreated their habitat. As a result, they feel so comfortable in it that they did not hesitate in bringing Tapón, our baby hippo, into the world. The sight of this peculiar family is a sheer pleasure to watch.

If you have a passion for cold-blooded creatures, you'll only need to visit the enclosures that house snakes, iguanas, and turtles, to see how they gradually recharge their batteries as the sunrays gain in intensity.

Crocodiles and aligators are the largest and most ferocious of these reptiles. Surprisingly they can't use their enormous jaws to chew. Instead they use a tearing action on their victims. Once closed, it is very difficult to open the jaws again.

You will also see Raccoons, Red Pandas, and Meerkats you remember the character Timon from the Lion King? He belonged to a family of South African Meerkats.
